Jonathan Kuminga, the Warriors’ 20-year-old power forward, is in talks with the Hornets for a trade. The Warriors are not able to offer enough game time to their lottery pick, and this is a matter of concern for both the player and the team.
Kuminga is a great young talent and deserves more game time than he is getting with the Golden State Warriors. This trade window has seen a lot of youngsters changing teams. Would Jonathan be the next on the list? The Hornets seem interested in the player. Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Golden State Warriors and the Charlotte Hornets involving Jonathan Kuminga!
What would the Hornets offer for Jonathan Kuminga?
The Hornets are proposing a trade involving their forward Cody Martin and their 2026 first-round pick in exchange for the Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga. All 30 teams in the NBA can’t have top players at the same time, so while a few enjoy the services of superstars, the others try to build upon what they already have.
Hornets is one of those teams who are relying on LaMelo Ball and are trying to make a star out of their young brigade simultaneously.

Why would the Warriors like to trade off Jonathan Kuminga?
If the Warriors can give him more game time, they should keep the 20-year-old but the Warriors are contending for the title. Giving a youngster a major role for the first time in this scenario looks unlikely. They will get a first-round pick along with Cody Martin, which should be enough to make them do the deal.

Why would the Hornets like to sign Jonathan Kuminga?
Jonathan is a player who would make any team take a bet on him. That’s probably the reason why they are letting go of Martin and more importantly, an unprotected first-round pick for him while being in the rebuilding phase.
The deal would provide the Hornets a great young player who is most likely to sync with LaMelo.
The Warriors and the Hornets, along with the player, would be happy to do the deal even though it might disappoint a few fans. We’ll keep you updated.
