The Indiana Pacers are one of the best NBA teams in the league. But even though they have a lot of young talent and probably one of the best offenses, they are not up for a good start to the NBA 2023-24 Season.
Could they make a major move by acquiring DeMar DeRozan from the Chicago Bulls? If they do, here is the potential trade proposal!
Indiana Pacers to Land DeMar DeRozan – The Trade Proposal
- The Chicago Bulls will receive the guard/forward Buddy Hield, the forward/center Daniel Theis, and a 2026 First-Round Draft Pick (Protected by Top 10 – Indiana Pacers).
- The Indiana Pacers will receive the guard/forward DeMar DeRozan in exchange.
The Chicago Bulls didn’t perform well in the last season. And they are continuing to perform badly in the current season as well. The organization acquired some quality players in recent years, including DeRozan, Nikola Vucevice, and Zach LaVine, with high expectations. Could they consider moving DeRozan to the Pacers as an initial change?
LOCK: DeMar DeRozan Over 21.5 Points
DeRozan DOMINATES against the Bucks with Giannis. He has 22+ Points in 12/13 games and took it to a NEW LEVEL once he came to the Bulls. In his six games vs the Bucks he has 29+ Points in 5/6 games taking at least 23 shots in every single… pic.twitter.com/EYDo1F4Byu

Why Do the Chicago Bulls Want to Trade DeMar DeRozan?
The Bulls could move DeRozan due to multiple reasons. First, he is up for an extension this summer, and if they don’t move him, he will be a free agent.
Second, DeRozan hasn’t provided any edge to the Bulls’ with his skills and abilities. He is considered a bad defender, and his shooting abilities are also average.
So, it makes sense for the Bulls to move DeRozan before he becomes a free agent, and they get nothing in return. But could the Pacers acquire the aging star from the Bulls?
Could the Pacers Acquire DeRozan from the Bulls?
The Pacers have Tyrese Haliburton on their roster, who is regarded as one of the best point guards in the league. Not only a point guard, but Haliburton is a primary playmaker for the Pacers. Could they add a secondary playmaker by acquiring DeMar DeRozan?
If the Pacers are acquiring DeRozan for his playmaking abilities, then this deal makes sense to them. The organization has to ignore his poor shooting skills to retain him on the roster as their secondary playmaker.
The Pacers are taking a risk here. But they can justify the risk since they have a lot of young talent on their roster.
