Zion Williamson is one of the most important star players in the New Orleans Pelicans franchise. However, some rumors suggest that he may part ways with the organization either via free agency or a trade deal. If there is a trade deal, what could be his potential destination?
Williamson has been linked with the New York Knicks, and it could be his next destination. Here is how the Knicks can acquire Williamson from the Pelicans in a deal!
Knicks in Talks with Pelicans for Zion Williamson Trade
Zion Williamson wants to have a change in the scenery. The recent trade news suggests that he could join hands with the Knicks since the star has been frequently linked to the franchise.
Marc Berman (New York Post) has revealed that the Knicks have been in talks with the New Orleans Pelicans for a potential Williamson trade.
Marc revealed:
“New Orleans is still not sold on Zion Williamson. Obviously, there’s a risk there, all eyes are on him this season. I was told the Knicks checked in over the offseason about Zion. That could be a possibility…”
Can Zion Williamson Stay Fit and Avoid a Knicks Move?
Williamson is one of the most injury-prone players in the league, and it isn’t a tough task to guess why the Pelicans are considering to trade him to the Knicks. Zion has played a small number of games compared to other injury-prone players in the league, as he is constantly getting injured.
As of now, Williamson is only averaging about 28.5 games per season. In a regular season, the star player has only averaged around 28.5 games per season, in which the season consists of 82 games.
Due to his frequent injuries, Williamson can be unavailable to play at any time. However, when he is healthy, he has one of the highest calibers in the league.

While the Pelicans are considering trading him, his teammates want him to stay on the court and show he is still one of the best players. However, he needs to stay fit and recover from the injuries to showcase his skills.
“Teammates, they want to see it to believe it. They want to see Zion Williamson come in, the shape he’s in. They want to see if he’s ready to go. They know if he plays 60, 70 games, this is a team that can compete.”
Williamson is a potential contender for MVP, but he needs to spend more time on the court for that. He needs to be available to play in the regular season games.
