The Golden State Warriors’ star player, Draymond Green, got suspended for five games for grabbing Rudy Gobert during the match against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The incident happened after Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels got into a fight; Green saw Gobert pulling Klay and instantly came to his defense. Green grabbed Gobert in a headlock position and got banned for the same.
“Anytime there is a situation and a teammate needs you to come to his defense, I’m going to come to their defense, Especially with someone I’ve been a teammate with for 12 years. That’s more than a teammate, that’s a brother.” Draymond Green said after the incident
The Warriors lost that match to the Timberwolves by 104-101. Stephen Curry missed that game due to injury and that can also be a reason behind the loss. The GSW struggled after this since their star players had to miss the game due to multiple reasons.
Draymond Green’s return on Tuesday
Draymond Green is going to return to the tournament tomorrow, where he will be playing a crucial game against Sacramento Kings. It’s an In-Season Tournament, and fans are quite hyped up for it.
“I think it’ll be fun, a lot of fun, I think it’ll be a lot like Game 7. The atmosphere, the people, the excitement, the angst. The feeling that I’m expecting is that it’ll feel like a Game 7.” Green said
Stephen Curry is also excited to see Green back, and this is a perfect stage; the team needs him. The Warriors are not in a good position; various players got injured, and then this ban, all of this has gone negative for them.
