The Atlanta Hawks is one of the best NBA teams in the league. They reached the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2020-21 Season, but they couldn’t beat the Milwaukee Bucks in a total of 6 games.
The Hawks need to make some changes to become the serious title contenders. Could they trade for Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors as a result? If they do, here is the potential trade scenario!
Atlanta Hawks Landing Pascal Siakam – The Trade Proposal
- The Atlanta Hawks will receive Pascal Siakam.
- The Toronto Raptors will receive De’Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and a 2028 First-Round Draft Pick in exchange.
A popular NBA writer, Fran Leiva of the Fadeaway World, has proposed this trade between the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors involving Siakam.
Leiva believes that the Hawks need to make some changes to their roster to win the championship. The Hawks have a good start, 4-2, in this season as they defeated the New Orleans Pelicans with a 123-105 score on Saturday.

Leiva wrote in his NBA column:
“… Siakam’s addition, with his improved outside shooting, would perfectly complement an alignment featuring Clint Capela in the interior and perimeter players like Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.”
“Prospects such as Saddiq Bey, AJ Griffin, or Jalen Johnson could fill the small forward void, empowering Atlanta significantly with Siakam’s arrival. His prowess would be invaluable on both offensive and defensive fronts, showcasing his ability to defend one-on-one and contribute to interior help defense.”
Could Pascal Siakam Make the Atlanta Hawks Title Contenders?
If the Hawks pursue this trade deal, they would be one of the strongest rosters in the league. Siakam is just 29 years old, and he is an All-Star talent already. The Raptors’ big man has averaged around 24.2 points in the last season, making him one of the best finishers on the Raptors’ roster.
The Atlanta Hawks have Trae Young, who is a leading scorer and has the second-highest assist in the league per game. If Atlanta trade for Siakam, then it would be much easier for Young to score high and make the defense much more strong.
However, one of the biggest problems with the Hawks’ rising star, Trae Young, is his inefficiency. Even though he is a great player and averaging around 21.7 points per game. He only shot around 34.6% of the shots from the field and 28.2% of the shots from the 3-point range.
If the Hawks acquire Pascal Siakam, he could help Young to play freely, making it an ideal trade for the Hawks. The Raptors haven’t talked about an extension with Siakam, and he will be a free agent by the end of the ongoing season.
