The Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell is expected to leave this offseason. Rumors suggest that the player would like to go to a bigger market and is unlikely to sign an extension with the Cavaliers. The two parties are heading away from each other just after a year.
Mitchell is a part of the Cavaliers’ roster now, but his intention of playing for some other team puts his future in doubt. The Cavaliers would like to get a good return value because otherwise, he might leave for free. The Magic has shown interest in the 26-year-old. Can they land him? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic involving Donovan Mitchell.
What would the Magic offer for Donovan Mitchell?
The Magic is expected to offer Jonathan Isaac, Gary Harris, and one first-round pick each from the years 2024,2025,2026 and 2028 in exchange for Donovan Mitchell. It’s not the first time when a player looks for a move out to enter a bigger market, but this might affect the small teams. Anyways, Mitchell wants a way out. Can the Magic lure the Cavaliers into parting ways with him?
“I don't think there's any chance he signs an extension there ever. And if it was up to me, I would trade Donvan Mitchell today.” 😳

Why would the Magic like to sign Donovan Mitchell?
The Magic landed a lot of players last season through the lottery and other signings, but they could not perform up to the mark due to injury issues. They have got what it takes to be there with a roster that includes the likes of Paolo Bachero and Franz Wagner. Mitchell’s signing would be the best thing to do. He can guard, he can shoot, and he is one of the best at offense. Will Mitchell be the commander of this young army?
Donovan Mitchell will more than likely decline his $37M player option for the 2025-2026 season. Which means that Cleveland will look to trade him before next season’s trade deadline. If Miami trades assets for Damian Lillard, they won’t have any assets to trade for Donovan https://t.co/o7FUpgrTjh

Why would the Cavaliers let Donovan Mitchell go?
Mitchell wants to leave, it does not look like he will extend. The Cavaliers are looking forward to getting the best returns for him. They get their draft picks. They spend on Mitchell, and they get Isaac and Harris. With this much capital for a player who doesn’t want to stay, the Cavaliers have no reason to refuse the deal.
The Magic, the Cavaliers, and Mitchell, everybody is going to be happy with this deal. But would the Cavaliers let the Magic build the young army? We’ll keep you updated.
