One decision of Kevin Durant that turned him from hero to villain in front of the OKC fanbase was him leaving OKC. Kevin announced that he was signing with the Golden State Warriors and all the NBA fans at that time started talking about him on social media. The anger among the OKC fan base was quite understandable because Kevin didn’t say a proper goodbye to the team and just left it, not even a thank you and stuff like that. The real reason for fans getting angry was because Kevin left OKC for the team that had defeated them in the playoffs. After this fans started giving him many nicknames like “Snake” and “Cupcake”.
According to reports, it is believed that Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook shared a very good bond during their days at Oklahoma City Thunders. But it seems like the two NBA stars aren’t that close now. During an interview when Kevin was asked about Russell, he said:
We don’t talk, I don’t really have any hard feelings toward him. I understand it’s a business and he’s doing what’s best for him and his career. I’m doing the same thing. I don’t really have any advice for him or anything like that, because I’m not in his shoes. I’m not in his shoes, so I can’t really relate to what he’s going through or what he’s thinking. I wish him the best, obviously, because he’s a great player and I want to see him do well.
Kevin Durant’s return to Oklahoma City
When Kevin Durant returned to Oklahoma City to play against the OKC, he was booed by the crowd. It was his first game back in OKC and his departure from the Thunders was still in the fans mind. And it didn’t just end there, fans are still treating him the same way.

Even though fans tried to put him down, but Kevin Durant didn’t lose his focus and scored 34 points in his first game back in OKC. Kevin’s performance helped the Warrior to get a victory over the Thunders. Kevin got booed by the Thunder’s fans throughout the game and still did well and it was a kind of response to the trollers out there.
