Detroit Pistons point guard and shooting guard Killian Hayes is set to get traded to another team this summer. The lottery pick could not live up to the Pistons’ expectations, and now they are looking for a trade destination for the French American professional.
It’s generally not the case with the lottery picks that they are traded off so quickly. But Hayes has given promising performances over time, and this is probably the right time to get a decent valuation for him. The Toronto Raptors seem interested in the 22-year-old. Would the Pistons part ways with him? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Detroit Pistons and the Toronto Raptors involving Killian Hayes.
What would the Raptors offer for Killian Hayes?
The Raptors are expected to send Otto Porter and their 2026 second-round pick in exchange for Killian Hayes. The Raptors signed Scottie Barnes, who became the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2021-22 but could not hold on to the performance. Hayes might help him in his redemption.

Why would the Raptors like to sign Killian Hayes?
The Raptors need a player similar to the profile of Killian. He is a good passer and a smart defender as well. The problem pops up when it comes to shooting. Killian struggles at shooting. Hayes would be a good addition to the Raptors’ squad and if it doesn’t, the Raptors have very less to lose.

I realize none of these proposals are overly exciting but I don’t believe Killian has much value right now around the NBA. pic.twitter.com/C2cc1iG1AR

Why would the Pistons like to let Killian Hayes go?
Pistons have more guards than they need. Apart from Killian, they have got Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Monte Morris. Sending off one of them would be their first priority, plus Hayes hasn’t done much for them. They would prefer trading him before his market value starts dropping. They would get Porter, who is a veteran defender and would improve their roster a lot more than Killian Hayes does right now.
The Pistons want to unload their burden, and for that, they are getting a veteran. The Raptors want to make a bet. Would the two teams end up happy? We’ll keep you updated.
