The Indiana Pacers are one of the greatest rosters in the NBA right now. With players produced at superstar levels, we won’t be surprised if they are the next winners of the championship.
The Pacers have some quality players with high potential, like Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner. Even though they have a deep roster, they want to be more competitive in the league. Could they do this by acquiring Jerami Grant from the Portland Trail Blazers?
The Jerami Grant Trade Proposal
- The Portland Trail Blazers will receive guard TJ McConnell, forward/center Daniel Theis, forward/center Jalen Smith, the 2025 first-round draft pick (Indiana Pacers).
- The Indiana Pacers will receive forward Jerami Grant.
The Trail Blazers had a disappointing season last year. Most of their players couldn’t perform, and this might be the reason they are considering rebuilding from scratch.
The Blazers’ superstar guard, Damian Lillard, has already made a trade request. But before Lillard’s trade request, the Blazers gave an extension to Grant. Could the Blazers move him to the Pacers as a part of the rebuilding process?
Why Do the Portland Trail Blazers Want to Send Jerami Grant to the Indiana Pacers?
The Portland Trail Blazers might consider this trade deal for the first-round pick. Alongside the first-round pick, they will also receive Jalen Smith, who could be their ideal floor spacer and defense.
But the Pacers are in no hurry to trade Jerami Grant. They have not even traded Lillard yet because they want to obtain the best possible return in exchange for their players. After trading Lillard, the Blazers might consider trading Grant to the Pacers.
Could the Pacers Acquire Grant from the Blazers?
The Pacers are hunting down an ideal player for their No. 4 position. They have been linked to many players, whether Tobias Harris, Kyle Kuzma, or even Pascal Siakam.
Grant would be the Pacers’ ideal floor spacer, and he can easily guard at multiple positions. Furthermore, he can generate his own offense.

The Pacers already have potential superstar players like Turner, Haliburton, and Hield, and adding Grant to the roster will further strengthen their core. With the addition of Grant, the Pacers could have a much deeper roster and a better playoff run.
