Zion Williamson is one of the most injury-prone players in the NBA league. However, when he is healthy, he is one of the best players as well, potentially an MVP candidate.
Williamson has played a total of 4 seasons in his career, but during those 4 years of his career, he has not played many regular matches due to his injuries. The potential MVP candidate was expected to change the New Orleans Pelicans game with his skills and abilities, but he was more of a frustration for the organization rather than a player.
It could be the right time for the Pelicans to cut their ties with the Williamson. If they do, where could they land him? Indiana Pacers?
The Zion Williamson Trade Proposal
- The New Orleans Pelicans will receive the guard/forward Buddy Hield, the forward/center Daniel Theis, the guard TJ McConnell, the 2026 First Round Draft Pick (Indiana Pacers), a 2028 First Round Draft Pick (Indiana Pacers), and a 2029 First Round Draft Pick (Swap – Indiana Pacers).
- The Indiana Pacers will receive the forward Zion Williamson.
How Pacers Would Benefit by Acquiring Zion Williamson?
The Pacers have been hunting for a reliable forward in the league this summer. They have also been linked to multiple players, whether it be the Tobias Harris or Pascal Siakam.

But they weren’t linked to Williamson, obviously, due to his injuries. If the Pacers acquire him from the Pelicans, they could pair him with Tyrese Haliburton to make a dynamic duo.
While the Pacers are taking a big risk by acquiring Zion Williamson in the deal, if he becomes healthy, he could be one of their best finishers and will also complement Haliburton in the playmaking.
Why Do the Pelicans Want to Trade Williamson?
When Williamson is healthy, he is one of the most expensive players in the league, and this value might sound funny to all the Williamson’s fans. However, due to his injury-prone nature, this is all the Pacers can offer to the Pelicans.
The Pelicans have waited for a long time for him to become healthy, and they are expected to wait for this season as well. But if he doesn’t become healthy, his trade value will further drop, making him an ideal player to trade this summer.
