The Lakers acquired Davis with the New Orleans Pelicans in an amazing trade three years back in 2019. The Lakers had a vision that Davis and LeBron James would together create a legacy in Los Angeles. The two stars certainly brought victory to the Lakers by leading them to a championship in 2020.
Anthony Davis at his best
In the 2019-20 season, David made new records. He played sixty-two games, the highest for Davis since the season of 2017-18. The star forward had an average of 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in the season of 2019-20.
Over the previous seasons, Davis has lost a lot of time battling injuries. The Lakers certainly felt the loss too. At the age of 29, Davis still has a lot of value in the market.
Finding a star partner for Russell Westbrook
According to Bill Simmons, the NBA Analyst, there is surely some buzz with respect to Davis in trade talks. This rumor began on the latest episode of the podcast The Bill Simmons. The Lakers could seal a deal with Davis if they couldn’t find a suitable trade star for Russell Westbrook. It certainly looks good as Plan B for the Lakers.

There’s some buzz that AD might be available. That that’s a Plan B because the Westbrook trade, or whatever they think they can get for Westbrook. Whether you want to give up future assets, maybe that doesn’t even make sense.
Tough Choice for the LA Lakers
Davis is no doubt an MVP candidate when he is at his best. However, Davis has been struggling with his health lately. In the previous two seasons, Davis could only play 76 games out of possible 164 games. The Lakers have a tough choice to make with James turning 38.
