Zion Williamson is expected to be moved by the New Orleans Pelicans soon. There are many teams that is eyeing the Williamson, and the New York Knicks is one of them.
A recent report has revealed that the Knicks are in talks with Pelicans for Williamson’s trade. This trade could take place this summer, which would not be a surprise, since Zion was on the trade block this year.
Could the Knicks Take a Risk by Acquiring Zion Williamson?
Zion Williamson is a potential Hall of Famer, but he is the most injury-prone player in the NBA league right now. No teams showed interest in acquiring him this offseason because he isn’t readily available to play.
Marc Berman from the New York Post has revealed that the Knicks are reaching out to the Pelicans to trade for Zion Williamson.
“New Orleans is still not sold on Zion Williamson. Obviously, there’s a risk there, all eyes are on him this season. I was told the Knicks checked in over the offseason about Zion. That could be a possibility…”

It is not a difficult task to understand the Williamson trade game. He isn’t available to play frequently because of his injuries. Furthermore, he has only averaged around 28.5 in a regular game season, which is really not a good number for a player like him.
Zion’s Teammates Want to See Him On the Court
While the Pelicans’ management wants to trade Zion Williamson, his teammates want to see him back on the court playing in full form. When healthy, Zion is one of the best players in the league. Acquiring him and waiting for him to get healthy and available to play is a risky and unpredictable move.
“Teammates, they want to see it to believe it. They want to see Zion Williamson come in, the shape he’s in. They want to see if he’s ready to go. They know if he plays 60, 70 games, this is a team that can compete.”

While Williamson is only 6’6 tall, he is extremely good on the court. He has a generational talent which is a must-have requirement to become an MVP player.
To become an MVP in the upcoming season, Zion Williamson has to play at least 65 regular season games. Fans are hoping to see him back on the court, alongside his teammates, but if he is traded to the Knicks, we will see him playing for another team.
