Clippers Pull Back on Harden Deal, Future Moves Dependent on Season’s Outcome
The Clippers have decided not to trade for James Harden this offseason. The Sixers wanted to acquire Terance Mann from the Clippers. The Clippers do not want to move Mann, due to which the Harden trade has currently been paused.

The Clippers are one of the only teams that can easily acquire Harden from the Sixers by offering them a good package in return.
Wojnarowski said on ESPN’s NBA Countdown:
“At least for the foreseeable future, the Clippers are stepping back from these trade talks about James Harden. They are essentially pausing them. They have talked with Philadelphia for months about a trade. They’ve made their best offer for Harden. They are now going to start their season and see what this team looks like with a healthy Kawhi Leonard, a healthy Paul George.
He continued to add:
“The Clippers may revisit this at some point, but they know they’re the only bidder for James Harden. They’re the only team that’s made a serious offer. They don’t want to bid against themselves.”
James Harden’s Future with the Philadelphia 76ers
Harden didn’t attend the practice session on October 17th, 2023. However, later, the veteran returned to the Sixers’ training camp. The bearded star was away from Philadelphia for 10 days but returned to the team on Wednesday.
According to reports, the star guard was told to stay at home during the Sixers vs Milwaukee Bucks match, which took place on Thursday.
Harden was stopped from boarding the flight for 2 opening season games. As per the latest reports, the NBA management is inspecting why the All-Star is absent from the league.
The Clippers-Sixers trade deal involving Harden is stuck due to Daryl Morey‘s steep demand for James Harden. It will be exciting to see whether or not Harden is traded this season.
