An NBA writer has proposed a trade deal involving Karl-Anthony Towns of the Philadelphia 76ers. Lee Tran from the Fadeaway World has proposed a huge trade deal between the Sixers and Minnesota Timberwolves. Here is the trade idea!
The Karl-Anthony Towns Trade Proposal
- The Philadelphia 76ers will receive Karl-Anthony Towns.
- The Minnesota Timberwolves will receive Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey.
Joel Embiid is expected to request his trade from the Sixers. If he joins hands with the Timberwolves after his departure from the Sixers, he can be a great frontcourt partner for Towns.
By far, Town is one of the best 3-point-shooting big men in the NBA, and if he is paired with Embiid, they can create a deadly combo to contend the next season.
Lee Tran wrote in his column:
“In theory, Karl-Anthony Towns is the perfect frontcourt partner to pair with Joel Embiid if the team decides to go big.”
“He is the best 3PT shooting big man in the league, which means that playing him at PF won’t affect a team’s spacing. Last season, Towns averaged 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists for the Timberwolves, while shooting 36.6 % from 3PT range. He profiles as a great No. 2 option behind Embiid, offensively, and has some ability to get his own shot.”
Tran further added:
“Though Towns isn’t necessarily an elite rim protector, Embiid should have that department covered. The duo would create a massive rebounding advantage for the Sixers, and they would be well-equipped to play against smaller teams in the Eastern Conference such as the Miami Heat.”
Karl-Anthony Towns Stats, Career, and Next Destination!
Karl-Anthony Towns has scored around 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in the previous season while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. He has shots 49.5% of his shots from the field, 36.6% of his shots from beyond the arc, and 87.4% of his shots from the free-throw line.
Furthermore, Towns has been named 3 times NBA All-Star. The Dominican Republic star has signed a 4-year contract with the Timberwolves for a massive $224.2 million in July 2022.
Towns could be a free agent next summer, and there are many teams eyeing him.
Tim MacMahon and Jamal Collier from ESPN wrote:
“There has been some discussion about Towns, but it shouldn’t be a surprise if that gets much louder as the trade deadline nears.”
“The face of the franchise for the Timberwolves has transitioned to Edwards, fresh off signing a new potential supermax extension. If Minnesota is going to make another major change, it would need to be by trading Towns.”

Collier added:
“Minnesota did not live up to expectations last season, and had Towns not missed such a significant portion of the campaign with an injury, there might already be more questions surrounding that roster.”
The Sixers are rebuilding their roster from scratch, and they are handling the biggest trade situation of James Harden right now. Karl-Anthony Towns was in a major fight with the Sixers’ big man Joel Embiid, so it could be the reason why they may not acquire him from the Timberwolves.
However, the situation between Towns and Embiid looks sorted since they haven’t given any statement after their fight.
