The rumors and trades this season have been huge; the Sixers’ James Harden requested a trade, and so did the Blazers’ Damian Lillard. Things are changing very quickly in the NBA offseason, and there is a lot of news in the market daily.
Embiid hinted that he is up for playing somewhere else as well following Harden’s request for a trade. The Hawks have shown interest in Embiid; would the Sixers let him go? Here is all the information you need about the deal between the Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia Sixers, which involves Joel Embiid!
What would the Hawks offer for Joel Embiid?
The Sixers are expected to offer their guard Tray Young, their forward Onyeka Onkongwu, and their 2029 first-round pick in exchange for the Center Joel Embiid. The Hawks have been very active this summer. They succeeded at landing their long-due target John Collins. The Hawks have Clint Capela and De’Andre Hunter on their radar as well.

Why would the Hawks like to sign Joel Embiid?
Embiid is the NBA 2023 MVP, and we don’t think somebody would need a better explanation. The Hawks have explored the market this offseason, and they are still trying to deal with Capela and others. All this looks like an effort to build their team around Embiid.
This might seem like a made-up rumor, but if the Hawks manage to pull this off, it will take a lot from other teams to keep them away from the title.
The Sixers aren’t to blame… they’ve put a competent team around Joel for his entire career. Jimmy Butler, pre injury Ben Simmons, Harden, etc…
The main problem is, Joel Embiid isn’t a bonafide #1 option. Comes up way too short in the playoffs and has never even propelled his… https://t.co/PUZpxZmWAP

Why would the Sixers like to trade off Joel Embiid?
It seems like the Sixers are up for a rebuild. Tray Young is young in terms of age as well, and if not at Embiid’s level, Tray gets the job done significantly well. Sixers don’t have a lot of assets, and if they are trying to rebuild, this looks like a good enough deal.
Since Joel has shown his intentions that he would like to play somewhere else, getting Young, Maxey, and Onkongwu doesn’t look bad.
The deal is good for both teams in case Joel Embiid wants to leave, but if he doesn’t, the Sixers would be reluctant or stubborn against any offer they get. We’ll keep you updated.
