31 YEARS AGO TODAY 🐐
Michael Jordan's "Shrug Game”People remember the 6 threes (35 PTS) in the 1st half but forget he also had 11 AST with just 1 TO in the 33-PT win.
“I started running for the 3PT line. It felt like a FT.”

Kenny Smith on Michael Jordan
There is a group of people who feel Michael Jordan wouldn’t have been that successful in the modern era. Kenny Smith is one of them. The NBA analyst Kenny, during a conversation, said:
It would’ve been too much. Think about how everyone in the world knew about him. He was our version of musically Michael Jackson … he was the most recognizable person in the world. It was almost too much when there was no social media, and all you saw was Michael everywhere
According to Kenny, social media puts constant pressure on players and it affects a player’s performance on the court. He believes social media might have put too much pressure on MJ and stats wouldn’t have been the same.
MJ did face hate and criticism during their playing days, but that helped him more, and he shined differently after that. So it would be kind of wrong to say that Michael Jordan wouldn’t survive this social media era because the former NBA star has already faced the same things back in the day and still left a legacy behind. Looking at it game-wise, in today’s time, it’s easier to score points as compared to 90s days. So it would have been easier for MJ to score as he was phenomenal during the 90s.
