John Collins’ weird take on Steph vs Trae
In an interview with American sports journalist Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, John was seen appreciating his then-teammate Trae Young, and in doing so, he went too far and gave a statement that is not even subjective. He said that Trae is a better playmaker than Stephen. This did not go well with the fans and John had to face a lot of trolling online.
“Trae has pushed himself into his own category, I can definitely say for sure that he’s a way better playmaker than Steph and he’s a better isolation scorer, right? But obviously, there’s different things that he does better and Steph does better. I just feel like, at this point in the league, they do have similarities in the oohs and the ahhs when they hit a crazy three, cross somebody up. I can say that they are similar. But be that as it may, Trae Young is his own person and his own guy stepping into his own in the league. It’s great to be compared to a guy like that, I feel like he wants to make his own name.” John Collins said
The Atlanta Hawks traded John to The Utah Jazz in exchange for Rudy Gay. Keeping aside his statement, he did well for the franchise in the past season. Hawks fans will miss him.
