Robert Covington could very soon become a part of the Los Angeles Lakers as the NBA trade deadline of February 6 approaches. It is common knowledge that Covington is not happy with how things have turned out in Minnesota Timberwolves and wants to move out of the team.
What’s this rumor that Robert Covington could be traded to the lakers soon?

The Lakers are in the persuasion of players who could help them in the playoffs and RoCo is one of those names. Kyle Kuzma is garnering a lot of interest ever since the Lakers have allegedly put him on the trade block. The Lakers and T-Wolves can involve in a blockbuster trade deal and exchange Robert Covington for a package of Kuzma, Quinn Cook, and DeMarcus Cousins.
Robert Covington in Exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Quinn Cook and DeMarcus Cousins
The Lakers are planning to send out a trade package of Kyle Kuzma, Quinn Cook and the injured DeMarcus Cousins to the Timberwolves and ask for Robert Covington in return. Meanwhile, Minnesota is estimated to receive a lot of blockbuster deals for Covington given his high demands in the NBA trade market.

Although, Kuzma could prove out to be a strong trade asset that convinces the Wolves to accept the deal. Further, they would be getting Cousins at a very low price and once his injury is healed, he can come out very stronger. Also, Quinn Cook has been very good at shooting 3-pointers from beyond the arc and the offer from Lakers is very generous.
Lakers have to be Stronger in the Playoffs
Robert Covington in the Lakers makes a lot of sense as his talent is just wasted in the Timberwolves. The 29-year-old power forward has been only scoring 12 points per game on 43% shooting 34% shooting from beyond the arc. It would change soon as Robert joins LeBron James and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles as they head into the playoffs. It would very soon be clear whether Covington dons the gold and purple jersey after the 2020 NBA trade deadline.
