The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell is up for a trade to the Clippers this summer. The guard joined the Cavaliers just a year ago for a bigger market than the Utah Jazz. He is set to leave the Cavaliers once again for a move to the Knicks. But there are other contenders for the 26 years as well.
Mitchell is on the radar of the Clippers, who are looking forward to transferring Paul George. We have seen shocking trades and requests this offseason. Will this be another? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Cleveland Cavaliers involving Donovan Mitchell.
What would the Clippers offer for Donovan Mitchell?
The Clippers are expected to offer Paul George and a 2028 first-round pick in exchange for Donovan Mitchell and Isaac Okoro. There are players who love to play for their home teams, just like Kawhi Leonard, who left to play for Clippers after winning the title with the Raptors in the 2018-19 season. Would Mitchell love to do the same and play for the Knicks? If not, are the Clippers doing it right by making this bet?
“I don't think there's any chance he signs an extension there ever. And if it was up to me, I would trade Donvan Mitchell today.” 😳

Why would the Clippers like to sign Donovan Mitchell?
If Mitchell is doing it just for the market size, the Clippers should risk it. He is going to be an important asset for them and enhance the quality of the play. They have Leonard and George but they struggle to be on the floor regularly, while Mitchell is reliable with his fitness. Leonard and Mitchell would be a great match and the Clippers might flourish with them. They will also get a decent young winger as well.
Donovan Mitchell scenario where Cavaliers should trade him ‘today’

Why would the Cavaliers like to let Donovan Mitchell go?
If Mitchell wants to stay here for long, the Cavaliers should not let the 26-year-old go. They will get George in return, who would do well with Darius Garland. They are going to get an unprotected draft pick. It’d be a good return for the assets they spent on Mitchell.
The Knicks might enter as the wild card entry and snatch Mitchell away but can the Clippers land him before that happens? We’ll keep you updated.
