DeMarcus Cousins is one of the most unlucky players and his problems can’t seem to end. For the majority of his career, Cousins has been suffering from various injuries and it has happened once again. Cousins tore his ACL while working out in Las Vegas and will be out of the full NBA 2019-20 season. While the Los Angeles Lakers have signed Dwight Howard as a replacement, Cousins needs to do something else.

DeMarcus Cousins is 29 years old… the same age as Andrew Luck.
I hope he doesn’t have to resort to the same thing as Luck. These injuries can do more mentally than physically sometimes.

DeMarcus Cousins got married yesterday and was able to attend the event without being on crutches.

It is also one of the reasons why Cousins decided to marry his longtime girlfriend Morgan Lang in an Atlanta wedding. Many of the NBA pundits are expecting that it indicates that Cousins is done from the game and might retire soon. Andre Luck retired from NFL at the age of 29 and it has given a message to all the players for preferring health over the games. But the former Lakers star, Steve Nash believes that DeMarcus Cousins has a lot of game left and he should not consider retirement as an option.
Steve Nash on Cousins Retirement
Steve Nash says that Cousins can recover from all his injuries and make a strong comeback in the NBA games. The 45-year-old future Hall of Famer has gone through several injuries in his career and understands the burden of it. Here is what Nash who played for the Lakers from 2012 to 2015 has to say on Cousins.
[blockquote footer=”Steve Nash”]He should not even consider retiring. He’s a great player and he’s gone through a lot already. I’m sure he can do it again and get ready to face all the challenges. It might need him some time but he should make a comeback and prove everyone that he’s still got it. He could have a great future and the current injury is just a minor setback which would soon be over.[/blockquote]
Future of DeMarcus Cousins
Cousins had the best chance of his career as he had signed one year deal with a strong Lakers team. He could have played better and asked for a raise at the next season but unfortunately, his injury has ruined all that. Even if Cousins is recovered from his ACL injury, the Lakers won’t rush his return anytime soon.
Dwight Howard himself has gone through several injuries and might do the job of replacing Cousins. The only good thing for Cousins is that the Lakers have signed Howard for a short term non guaranteed deal. So if he’s not performing, Cousins will get another chance with the Lakers and needs to recover before the NBA 2019-20 playoff starts.
