Dwight Howard could very soon be joining the Boston Celtics as the trade rumors for NBA offseason have started to surface. The Lakers gave Howard another chance where he proved himself worthy and now every team that was unable to make some big calls in the recent trade deadline will give it a thought.

The Celtics were not able to land a single superstar whereas their rivals Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat signed big names Alec Burks and Andre Iguodala respectively. Dwight Howard is also getting a chance to sign back with the Lakers, but it all depends on how the audition goes. But the Boston Celtics will be ready to sign Howard in the first instance if they can’t get any other experienced star for the NBA 2019-20 playoffs.
Boston Celtics is still Looking for Free Agents in the Offseason
Boston Celtics have to solve their problem of a big man if they want to beat the Milwaukee Bucks led by Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Eastern Conference finals. The Celtics will be looking for experienced players that are ready to sign a veteran minimum deal or a mid-level exception.
Dwight Howard is the perfect name for Boston in the list which also includes players such as Marc Gasol (Toronto Raptors), Paul Millsap (Denver Nuggets), and Robin Lopez (Bucks). Celtics are currently at No. 3 seed in the East with 37-15 record and they would explore all the free agents in the offseason deals.
Dwight Howard Trade Rumors with Lakers and Celtics
Dwight Howard is currently on his career-low average of 7.7 points and 7.8 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game played for the Lakers. But that doesn’t mean the big man is not contributing on the court, Howard is great at defense with 1.3 blocks per game and also shooting 74 percent from the field.
The Lakers have seen that Dwight was able to perform off the bench when LeBron James and Anthony Davis were sitting on the sidelines. Boston Celtics are stuck with the contracts of Gordon Hayward and Jaylen Brown and would sigh Howard once the salary cap issue is solved.
