D’Angelo Russell, the Los Angeles Lakers’ prolific guard, might get moved to the Los Angeles Clippers in the midseason. LeBron James’ future is still in the dark, he hasn’t given any confirmation over his retirement, and his extension looks very unlikely since he is growing old. But the 38-year-old is still running the show, day in and day out.
While James is here, they would like to send Russell, who they retained in free agency, to the Clippers in the midseason. Russell is somebody who likes to keep the ball, and that style of play might not go well with James. Here is all the information you need about Russell’s move to the Clippers!
What would the Clippers offer for D’Angelo Russell?
The Clippers might send their forward Robert Covington and center Mason Plumlee in exchange for the Lakers’ Russell. James is aging, but he has shown that he still has it in him, and that’s so impressive. The longevity he showcases is commendable, and the Lakers’ fan base should be grateful that he’s still there playing for them.
Lakers traded for D'Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt and ultimately had one of the biggest heel turn seasons in recent history.
So yeah, trade that for some guys who don't really fit the system (except Bojan) https://t.co/NKkXWszbKb

Why would the Clippers like to sign D’Angelo Russell?
The Clippers are surely looking for a point guard; even though they have got Westbrook, they can’t rely on him for the whole game. He is good as a sub only, and also, they can’t trade him right now. Russell is a brilliant passer and ball-handler. The Clippers need somebody who can make great movements, and he is the best guy for them. They are also keeping an eye on James Harden and if that happens, they might not go for Russell.

Why would the Lakers like to trade off D’Angelo Russell?
The Lakers have their point guard, probably the best they will ever have. James is not a point guard but he is magnificent at offense. The Lakers would expect Austin Reaves to be good enough for rotation, and if that happens, they would see off Russell. They will get players like Plumlee and Covington, both of them will strengthen the roster and help James as well.
The deal depends more on other factors than the player or the team. Other players’ signing would decide if Russell would play for the Lakers or the Clippers. We’ll keep you updated!
