The San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson is likely to get traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason. The lottery system in the NBA provides an opportunity for the bottom teams to rise. The Spurs not only saw the opportunity, they did everything in their power to exploit it. All their efforts and tanking paid off, and they landed the generational talent Victor Wembanyama. Now, they are trying to build a quality roster around him. Will trading off Johnson ease the process?
The Kentucky Wildcats product Keldon played 63 games for the Spurs last season and averaged 22 points, 2.9 assists, and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 32.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Spurs are linked with some big names, and if they manage to land anyone who can complement Victor well, they might win the championship as well. Will the Cavaliers help them do so by acquiring Keldon? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the San Antonio Spurs and the Cleveland Cavaliers involving Keldon Johnson.
What would the Cavaliers offer for Keldon Johnson?
The Cavaliers are expected to offer Jarrett Allen and a first-round pick from the season 2030 in exchange for the Spurs’ #3. The Spurs have recently used their draft pick, and they would like to collect some more so as to have a shot at landing the likes of James Harden and Joel Embiid.
I'd start the session like this👇🏽

Why would the Spurs trade-off Keldon Johnson?
The Spurs already have a player of a similar profile, and they think that they are getting a good return package for the 24-year-old. They are not in dire need of the player since others can manage the job he does. They want to increase their chances for the title by landing a star.

Why would the Cavaliers like to sign Keldon Johnson?
The Cavaliers probably want to play Evan Mobley at the five since he would give them a mobility advantage. They are getting rid of the player who could not build chemistry with Mobley to land a player who they think will be a good fit.
Will the Cavaliers improve their run from last season? How will the Spurs line up? We’ll keep you updated.
