James Harden has requested a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Los Angeles Clippers. But due to a poor package offered by the Clippers, the Sixers couldn’t trade their All-Star to the Clippers.
Now, an NBA writer has proposed a 3 team trade deal between the Clippers, Sixers, and Portland Trail Blazers. Here is the potential trade idea!
The James Harden Trade Proposal
- The Philadelphia 76ers will receive Jrue Holiday.
- The Los Angeles Clippers will receive James Harden.
- The Portland Trail Blazers will receive Norman Powell, Terance Mann, and Bones Hyland.
Harden requested a trade in June, but since then, there has been no development between the two organizations. The star guard has also spoken to Clippers’ star Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to get traded from his current team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Sixers’ star is a Los Angeles native. He is one of the best players in the league, as he has won 10 times NBA All-Star. The LA native is a close friend of Russell Westbrook, the star player of the Clippers.
Westbrook and James were teammates in the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Upon Harden’s request, the Sixers started looking for a trade destination for the star guard. Harden picked a $35.6 million player option for the upcoming NBA Season in June 2023.
However, the Sixers were looking for the best package with high returns, and no teams showed interest in the star guard due to such a high asking price.
Sixers’ Title Hopes for NBA 2023-24 Season
The Sixers want to be the title contenders with Harden and Joel Embiid on their roster for the NBA 2023-24 Season. However, Harden doesn’t want to play with his current organization anymore, as reported by an NBA Insider, Joe Vardon of The Athletic.
If the Sixers somehow manage to retain James Harden on their roster, he will not join the training camp.
James Harden Stats, Career Average, and More
Harden averaged around 21 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 10.7 assists in a total of 58 games for the Sixers in the last season. The Los Angeles native led the assists in the league for the second time in his NBA career.
James has also been a controversial star in recent times. He called the general manager of Sixers, Daryl Morey, “a liar”, for which he was fined $100,000.
