NBA trade deal news is a dime a dozen, and the latest is that LA Lakers might be looking to trade Russell Westbrook soon. The Los Angeles Lakers are yet to comment or confirm anything.
The week of the NBA regular season is behind us, the team played three matches with the team, and although it is difficult for now, a single unit, one of the most active players on the market, should be the Los Angeles Lakers. The LA Lakers started the season with three losses, causing more talk about the need to replace Russell Westbrook. The game will include a transfer from San Antonio Spurs.
LA Lakers are looking to trade or sell Russell Westbrook?
The Athletic Shams Charania reports that the Los Angeles Lakers will continue to look for a trade deal for Russell Westbrook’s expiring contract after this season. The contract is worth $47.1 million, and the Lakers are willing to offer two unprotected first-round draft picks in 2027 and 2029 in exchange. On Sunday night, the Lakers lost their third consecutive regular season game to the Portland Trail Blazers 104:106. Still, 4 minutes and 42 seconds before the end of the game, when Westbrook appeared on the court, the LA Lakers were leading 98:90.

The Lakers discussed a failed trade with the Indiana Pacers that would see Myles Turner and Buddy Hield to LA. The authorities of the two clubs discussed various solutions, but ultimately the parties did not agree, as the Pacers wanted both first-round picks. The Lakers were not ready for such a move. However, now might be time to land somewhere else for Westbrook.
After the game, we got more details on what transpired between Russell Westbrook and the Lakers coaching staff.
“Honestly man it was just a conversation. I didn’t get into it with anybody,” said Russ.

Bad performances from Russell Westbrook
Westbrook recorded a lousy end to the meeting, and his missed half-distance throw with 30 seconds completed the picture of defeat. The Lakers led by one point and had 18 seconds to play. In the summer, the Lakers were to assure coach Darvin Ham that he would be able to remove Westbrook from the starting five. He did it during one of the pre-season meetings. However, the quarterback started in the top five in the three regular-season games.
