One of the highly anticipated trades of the year is the Donovan Mitchell trade. The Cleveland Cavaliers star is on the trading block this year after recovering from the injury. Now, an NBA writer has proposed a trade deal in which the Miami Heat will trade for Mitchell in exchange for Tyler Herro and some other valuable players and picks. Here is the potential trade scenario!
The Donovan Mitchell Trade Proposal
- The Cleveland Cavaliers will receive Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, Josh Richardson, a 2024 First-Round Draft Pick, and a 2026 First Round Draft Pick.
- The Miami Heat will receive Donovan Mitchell in exchange.

During the 2023 Media Day event, Donovan Mitchell told a report that he won’t extend his contract with the Cavaliers this year. The 4-time All-Star will make around $32.6 million this season and around $34.8 million in the next NBA Season. Donovan has a $37 million player option for the NBA 2025-26 Season.
Donovan Mitchell’s Future Uncertain? How the Heat Could Dominate with His Addition!
Even though Mitchell was injured in the last NBA Season, he is still regarded as one of the best players in the league. The Louisville product averaged 28.3 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in the last season while playing for the Cavaliers in a total of 68 games.
The veteran has a career average of around 24.6 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds while playing for the Cavaliers and Jazz.
If he doesn’t sign an extension with the Cavs, it would be interesting to see which team trades for him. Donovan is one of the players that fit in almost all the NBA teams due to his skillset and abilities. If he becomes available for trade, there will be multiple teams who could target the Cavaliers’ star player.
If the Heat acquire Mitchell, then they could run for the title in the next season, which will include players like Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, Kevin Love, Bam Adebayo, and Mitchell.
