The Chicago Bulls’ forward DeMar DeRozan is most likely to get traded this summer and they should try to get it done as soon as possible. He is a great player for sure but the 34 year old could not take his team to the playoffs. Shouldn’t they look forward to getting assets in his return?
Generally teams tend to keep their veterans, they are a path to success for them. Their experiences come in handy in difficult situations, they attract quality players since everybody wants to play alongside greats. Not only that, veterans function as a mentor for the young players. But teams need to look at the other side too. Here is all the information you need about the situation between the Bulls and DeMar DeRozan.
Why should the Bulls trade off DeMar DeRozan?
DeRozan is a brilliant player, that’s not a doubt. But he is ageing and might not continue with the Bulls. His contract expires next season and he would become a free agent then. He has signed a three year long contract worth $82M in 2021 and will earn $28.6M in this upcoming season. Rather than letting him go for free the Bulls can trade him off this season and can get the return value for the veteran star. A lot of teams are interested in him, where would the Bulls send him?
