The New Orleans Pelicans is playing very smart in the NBA 2019 draft picks, as they were the first team to make a trade. By sending Anthony Davis to the LA Lakers, the Pelicans got 3 players and the No.1 and No. 4 pickups. Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and Brandon Ingram were already a part of the Lakers trade deal, and now they are looking for more.

The recent reports state that the Pelicans are eyeing for the Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett Duo to get back to their Duke days together. While the New Orleans Pelicans has already got Zion Williamson as the No. 1 pick, they are now trying for Barrett. Here are the possible ways for the Pelicans to get the Williamson-Barrett duo in their team.
Number 1 and Number 4 Pick
The Anthony Davis trade deal enabled the New Orleans Pelicans to get the No. 1 draft pickup. There were no second thoughts and Zion Williamson was picked as everyone was speculating. The Pelicans also have the fourth spot to pickup, but RJ Barrett currently stands at the third position. So, it might be possible that Barrett can go to the Knicks who have the No. 3 draft.
The team management of Pelicans is trying hard to convert the fourth pick to a third pick through some new trade deals. If somehow they are successful to do so, then Williamson-Barrett can again play together in the same team.
Through Knicks and Grizzlies
The possible way left with the Pelicans is that they can somehow convince the New York Knicks to give them RJ Barrett. After sending Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks, the Knicks a star player for their team. The Pelicans have a lot of players to trade, maybe the Knicks is interested in one of them.
The other option for the Pelicans is to coerce the Memphis Grizzlies to use their second spot pickup and acquire RJ Barrett, instead of Ja Morant. The Pelicans can then trade two of its players and finally get Barrett in their team.
