The Los Angeles Lakers are interested in acquiring a guard in this NBA trade window. This isn’t breaking news; probably everybody who follows the NBA knows that. The LA Lakers are struggling this season, and they barely look like contenders at the moment.
They are expected to be active buyers, and as a result, they are linked with multiple quality and star guards. A lot of big names are available in the market, and the Lakers management is reported to be holding discussions with most of them.
Other than stars like Donovan Mitchell and Zach LaVine, there are two names that are being tossed around the most with the LA Lakers. Washington Wizards’ Tyus Jones and Utah Jazz’s Collin Sexton are most likely to be the new recruits of the men in purple and gold.
If ESPN’s Dave McMenamin is to be believed, the Lakers management might push for a trade for either of the players in the coming days. Here is all the information you need about the Los Angeles Lakers and their trade targets in this NBA trade window.
How are the Los Angeles Lakers doing this season?
The LA Lakers won the inaugural play-in tournament by defeating the Indiana Pacers. But the regular season tells a whole different story. The LeBron James army is ranked 9th in the Western Conference with a 22-23 record, and their hopes for playoffs are very slim.

Why would the Los Angeles Lakers like to sign Tyus Jones?
The 27-year-old American Basketball guard Tyus Jones has played 42 games for the Washington Wizards this season. He has managed to chart 12.9 points, 6 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc. He will come at a cheap price, which aligns with the Lakers’ lack of assets. His addition would surely make them a better team.

Why would the Los Angeles Lakers like to sign Collin Sexton?
The 25-year-old American basketball guard Collin Sexton has played 42 games for the Utah Jazz this season. He has charted 16.9 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 37.1 percent from beyond the arc. His scoring ability would surely enhance the quality of the supporting cast the Lakers want to put around Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
