This NBA Offseason, Boston Celtics are likely to make some major changes to the roster. The Celtics are looking for a big man like Clint Capela.
Boston Celtics’ Offseason Plans: Adding a Veteran Guard for Roster Balance
To balance the roster, the Boston Celtics is considering making some significant changes on the roster this offseason. The Celtics are looking for a veteran guard who can improve the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
The Celtics need to improve their team’s depth at the center, and Clint Capela could be a great option as a big man. Currently, Clint is playing for the Atlanta Hawks.
The Clint Capela Trade Deal
- The Atlanta Hawks will receive Derrick White of the Boston Celtics.
- In exchange, the Boston Celtics will receive Clint Capela.
Why Boston Celtics Want to Trade Capela?
The Clint Capela trade deal won’t be an easy option for the Boston Celtics. The Celtics will have to reconsider their decision to acquire Capela since the roster will be left with some complications.
As of now, the Celtics’ Robert Williams is injured, and if he gets healthy, the team will have a logjam at the frontcourt.
This is due to the fact that the team will then have 2 big men (non-shooters) at the frontcourt, sharing the floor with each other. It could be problematic for the team to organize an offense.
However, it would make more sense if they traded one of their combo guards for a big man like Clint Capela.
Capela Trade Talks: Why Atlanta Hawks are Interested in the Center?
Similar to the Celtics, the Hawks also have a logjam issue on the floor. They have 2 big men on the floor, including Clint Capela and Onyeka Onkongwu.
But the Hawks are looking to solve this problem by trading Capela to the Celtics. However, unlike the Boston Celtics, the Hawks are likely to use a combo guard on the floor.
