D’Angelo Russell was never supposed to be a part of the Golden State Warriors and was always meant to be used as a trade chip. Despite his amazing performance in the current NBA season, the Warriors would trade him out for a better fitting player. The problem is Russell never fits into the core of Dubs side, they have two amazing ball handlers in the form of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

As soon as the Warriors’ star players get recovered from their injuries, D’Angelo will be an odd fit in the team. Most of the teams were waiting for February trade deadline to make deals for the players signed in the last free agency. It is why the GS Warriors could send out D’Angelo Russell to Orlando Magic and get Aaron Gordon and other assets in an exchange deal.
D’Angelo Russell is a Suitable Fit for Orlando Magic
Orlando Magic are currently at the 8th seed in NBA Eastern Conference and they would need several upgrades if they want to contend for the title. If the Magic side really wants an NBA championship, they should try to sign D’Angelo Russell before the February 2020 trade deadline.
The 23-year-old point guard has an average of 23.2 points, 6 assists, 43.3 percent shooting from the field and 36.3 percent three-pointers. Russell has the ability to score, he can dominate the ball and is also amazing passer. He will not only solve their frontcourt problem but also give the Magic a much-needed boost in their backcourt.
Aaron Gordon and D’Angelo Russell Exchange Deal Requirements
The Warriors are already at the bottom spot in NBA Western Conference and they are going for a rebuild for which they would require trade assets and players that can adjust in their roster. Orlando Magic has to include a reliable veteran role player and a future draft pick along with the proposed asset Aaron Gordon to make the deal possible.
Via @ESPNStatsInfo: D'Angelo Russell is the 3rd player in Warriors history with 8 3-pointers in a single half, joining Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

It would make a lot of sense for the Warriors to acquire young talent in the form of Gordon and not carry out the three-guard setup with Russell. Gordon would make a great fit along with the core of Draymond Green, Thompson, and Curry and the Warriors can make a comeback in the NBA 2019-20 season.
