The NBA trade speculations and rumors season is here, and one trade proposal that is catching the attention of fans is the Paul George trade.
Lee Tran is an NBA analyst and popular writer from Fadeaway World who has proposed a trade between the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers. Here is the complete trade proposal.
The Paul George Trade Proposal
- The New York Knicks will receive Paul George and Amir Coffey.
- In return, the Los Angeles Clippers will receive Julius Randle and Evan Fournier.
According to Michael Scotto, who is another popular NBA Insider and analyst, the Los Angeles Clippers want to acquire Quentin Grimes, RJ Barrett, and the 3 First-Round Picks from the New York Knicks but they did not accept this offer and decided to acquire Paul George instead.
Scotto wrote:
“The Knicks and Clippers originally had trade talks surrounding Paul George at the NBA Draft.”
“At the time, New York was considering a package featuring Obi Toppin, Quentin Grimes, Evan Fournier, and three first-round picks in exchange for George, league sources told HoopsHype. Toppin was then traded to the Pacers for two second-round picks, as ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
“After that, RJ Barrett’s name was brought up briefly in trade talks by the Clippers in place of Toppin, league sources told HoopsHype. However, the asking price of parting with Barrett, Grimes, three first-round picks, and then having to negotiate a long-term extension for George, who’s 33 years old, was too high for the Knicks.”

Knicks’ Concern for George’s Ongoing Knee Injury
The Knicks could acquire Paul George from the LA Clippers since he had a contract extension with his current team worth $220 for 4 years.
But since George has ongoing injuries, the Knicks were hesitating to acquire him. However, now they have finally made up their mind to acquire him.

Paul has played a total of 87 out of 164 games in the last 2 NBA seasons. He is an 8-time All-Star player and averaged around 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists for the Clippers in the previous season.
Paul had shot around 45.7% shots from the field, 37.1% of the shot from beyond the arc, and 87.1% of the shots from the free-throw line.
But he missed the last 9 games of the regular season due to his knee injury and couldn’t play the first round of this season’s playoffs against the Suns. Without him, the LA Clippers lost five matches to the Suns.
