Russell Westbrook currently plays for LA Lakers, but if recent NBA trade rumors are to be believed, the player might soon end up in a different team altogether.
Which trade is the best for Russell Westbrook in the NBA?
Russell Westbrook doesn’t have many options, but we think the best move for him would be to join the Pacers, Hornets, or Spurs.
Almost half of the 2021/22 regular season is behind us. After 39 games, the LA Lakers are in 6th place in the table with a balance of 20-19, but lurking just behind them are the Los Angeles Clippers (19-19), Denver Nuggets (18-18), and even the Minnesota Timberwolves (18 -20). The 2020 NBA champions are aiming for another title, but their game is not captivating so far.

Russell Westbrook has come under the fire of criticism. Last summer, the management of the Lakers decided to transfer the quarterback in exchange form. In his new colors (Washington Wizards), Kyle Kuzma shines and surprises (14.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists per game). This move was tantamount to giving up the fight for DeMar DeRozan, who, together with the Chicago Bulls, now has a real chance of fighting the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks for the title of king of the east, and DeRozan himself is mentioned among the candidates for the MVP statuette.
Which teams want Russell Westbrook from LA Lakers?
Opinions on Russell Westbrook’s game are strongly divided. Some fans and analysts believe that his game leaves a lot to be desired and blocks the development of the Lakers primarily with his effectiveness from a distance. Others believe that a player averaging 19.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game cannot be fully responsible for the team’s poor performance. The club should decide to trade Anthony Davis, who failed before the injury.

Aside from financial considerations, which could be the Lakers’ interest? In July, before Westbrook’s transfer, it looked like Buddy Hield from the Sacramento Kings would join the Lakers’ rotation. Ben Simmons, like Russ, has signed a massive $33 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers that runs through 2025. There’s also Damian Lillard, but the Portland Trail Blazers probably wouldn’t agree to any of the Lakers’ offers. We can wait a few more months for the whole saga to be resolved.
