Richard Jefferson Predicts Joel Embiid’s Next Move Following Harden’s Knicks Trade Shock
The former American basketball player Richard Jefferson expressed his belief in an interview that Joel Embiid would request a trade after Harden’s trade to the Knicks.
The New York Knicks have been linked to the star player Joel Embiid after Harden’s trade request. Joel might put up a trade request with the Sixers to join the Knicks, according to NBA writer Vincent Goodwill from Yahoo Sports.

Joel has averaged around 33.1 points alongside 10.2 rebounds per game in the previous season for the Sixers. Embiid shot around 54.4% of his shots from the field, 33% of his shots from beyond the arc, and 85% of his shots from the free-throw line.
Embiid has played a total of 394 games in the regular season for the Sixers while averaging 27.2 points alongside 11.2 rebounds per game.
Furthermore, Embiid has been awarded 6 times All-Star teams, 5 times All-NBA teams, and 3 times All-Defensive teams. On top of that, he has once won the MVP award as well. However, it needs to be noted that the Sixers has never reached the second round of the playoffs during Joel’s era.

Embiid has signed a massive $210 million contract extension deal with the Sixers for 4 years in 2021. Even though there are different rumors coming out for Embiid’s trade request past Harden’s trade, he may not request his trade this summer and may play for the 2023-24 NBA Season for the Philadelphia 76ers.
