NBA trade rumours have started doing rounds since the offseason kicked off. The trade season has begun and we’re going to witness a lot of NBA stars moving around before the 2023-24 season commences. We’ve got a list of five NBA players who are most likely to change their home ground this season.
5 NBA Stars To Be Traded Based On Latest NBA Trade Rumours
1. Damian Lillard
Portland Trail Blazers Damian Lillard is the top candidate to be traded this season. The Portland point guard is the top pick for Miami Heat. Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report has also reported Miami’s intention to get the All-Star Portland guard during the trade season.
“Miami’s focus is Portland superstar Damian Lillard with the genuine belief this could be the offseason the veteran guard seeks a change of scenery”.
Lillard has already made an official request for a trade to Portland Trail Blazers. However, according to reports, Portland does not seem too happy with the deal Miami Heat is offering for the trade.
2. Pascal Siakam
Toronto Raptors forward, Pascal Siakam is a popular choice for trade this season. Atlanta Hawks’ interest in Siakam is one of the hottest NBA trade rumours on the internet. Apart from the Hawks, Siakam has also had proposals from Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic. Siakam is one of the best league forwards and has scored over 21 points per game for four continuous years. The Raptors are going to have no problem finding a good deal for the 6 foot 9 inch forward.
3. James Harden
James Harden has also requested a trade deal from the Philadelphia 76ers. However, the Sixers seem to be in no rush to make the move. Harden exercised his option for 2023-24 for $35.6 million which makes him ineligible for a contract extension at the Sixers. And the president of the Sixers told The Anthony Gargano Show, that they will honour the 33-year-old’s wishes.
“And if James were to turn his mind around, we would all be thrilled. But at this moment he does prefer to be traded, and we are attempting to honor that.”
Although, Morey added that he would only make the trade deal if they are offered a good enough package. For now, Harden’s next destination is most likely to be LA Clippers.
4. Joel Embiid
Harden isn’t the only player who seems to be making his way out of the Philadelphia 76ers squad this season. According to the latest NBA trade rumours, the 29-year-old Cameroonian player may also be looking for his options. In a recent interview with Maverick Carter at the Uninterrupted Sports Film Festival, Embiid expressed his ambition to fight for a championship whether it’s with the Sixers or anywhere else.
“I just want to win a championship. Whatever it takes. I don’t know where that’s going to be, whether it’s in Philly or anywhere else, I just want to have a chance to accomplish that. I want to see what it feels like to win that first one, and then you can think about the next one.”
The clip from the interview was all over the internet which added fuel to the NBA trade rumours. Unless the Sixers make a great deal in exchange for Harden to bring an All-Star player for a shot at the championship, Embiid will be seeking out options.
5. Zion Williamson
While no trade requests have been made by either Zion Williamson or the Pelicans, there are still NBA trade rumours about the 23-year-old player. Williamson hasn’t made much contribution to the Pelicans owing to his frequent injuries. And this trading season could be the only chance the Pelicans have to get a fair deal for Williamson before his value drops in the market. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst also added to the recent Williamson NBA trade rumours.
“I don’t know if anything’s truly going to develop there, but I think it’s fair to say, based on my conversations, there’s an eye being kept toward whether the Pelicans would make Zion Williamson available.”
