The Toronto Raptors’ forward OG Anunoby might get traded to the Miami Heat in the coming days. The Heat did an unbelievable task last season, they made it to the finals of the NBA championship after landing in the play-in tournament. Their run was so majestic that teams all around the league believe that they would not be able to pull it off ever again. It is logical, the Heat are not a powerhouse and if they want to pull off something similar to their last season’s wonder, they need to land some star.
The Heat knew this and they targeted one of the best guards in the league this whole summer. They were linked with the Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard but they could not offer what the Blazers wanted in return. Lillard got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and then the Heat failed to acquire Jrue Holiday as well. Can they sign the Raptors’ 26 year old instead? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat involving OG Anunoby.
What would the Heat offer for OG Anunoby?
The Heat are expected to offer Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic and one first round pick each from the year 2027 and 2029 in exchange for the Raptors’ #3. The Heat are not expected to tank since that is not their style, they stay competitive and land a superstar to make the difference. Will they be able to pull off the trick with Anunoby?
Players who have 3+ shot attempts when guarded by OG Anunoby are shooting 24.3% from the field.

Why would the Raptors trade off OG Anunoby?
If the Raptors choose to rebuild, they can keep Anunoby while building their squad around Scottie Barnes. They would prefer moving Pascal Siakam over him. But if they are rebuilding they would prefer assets over players and this deal gives them enough assets for their star.
Best defended FG% so far this season (min 60 defended field goal attempts):
32.3 – Jaden McDaniels
32.5 – KCP
34.9 – Rudy Gobert
35.2 – Wemby
35.3 – Kyle Anderson
36.1 – Gordon Hayward
36.6 – Chris Paul
37.3 – Herb Jones
37.5 – OG Anunoby

Why would the Heat like to sign OG Anunoby?
If the Heat want to replicate their last season’s stunt, they need to look strong on paper. They need to acquire some quality players and this is exactly what they are doing by doing this deal. They are making upgrades here and they would hope for things to go in their favor.
Will the Raptors rebuild or try to land some stars? How will the Heat line up? We’ll keep you updated.
