The Washington Wizards are looking to speed up the rebuilding process as they are reportedly acquiring Minnesota Timberwolves’ star, Karl-Anthony Towns, in a trade deal.
Washington Wizards to Acquire Karl-Anthony Towns – The Trade Proposal
- The Washington Wizards will receive the forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns.
- The Minnesota Timberwolves will receive the forward Kyle Kuzma, the guard Landry Shamet, a 2025 First Round Draft Pick (Washington Wizards), a 2027 First Round Draft Pick (Washington Wizards), a 2028 First-Round Draft Pick (Swap – Washington Wizards).
The Timberwolves have one of the best rosters in the league with Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and more. But they are still not the serious contenders for the championship like the Warriors.
The Wolves paired Gobert with Towns, which didn’t work out for them. They wanted to assist Edwards on the court, but the Gobert-Towns duo didn’t perform as expected. Could they send Towns to the Wizards as a result?
Why Do the Wolves Want to Trade Karl-Anthony Towns to Wizards?
The Wolves want to trade Towns since the Gobert-Towns duo didn’t work out as expected. In this deal, they will receive Kyle Kuzma, who can improve their roster defensively.
In this deal, Minnesota is also gaining some draft capital. The Wolves will get 2 first-round draft picks alongside a swap pick, which makes it an ideal trade deal for them.
But could the Wizards acquire Towns from the Wolves?

Could the Wolves Acquire Towns from the Wizards in a Trade Deal?
The Washington Wizards have just made a bold move by trading Bradley Beal. In this deal, the Wolves will receive Karl-Anthony Towns, one of the league’s best offensive players.
Towns is one of the best big men who fit well on the Wolves’ roster. Minnesota has Deni Avdija, who they could pair with Towns, who create a versatile defense.
Apart from that, they could also pair Towns with Jordan Poole, and if this duo works out, then the Wolves could be the ideal contenders for the NBA 2023-24 Season.
