One Piece Live Action Series: How Much Did It Cost to Bring the Anime to Life?
Even though Netflix has not revealed or disclosed the total production budget of the live-action series, many reports claim it to be one of the most expensive series by Netflix.
Netflix made the announcement about the project in 2017, but at that time, they didn’t provide many details about the series. However, things changed last year when Richard Bridgland, the production designer for the One Piece series, compared its budget to that of a Marvel movie.
This comparison raised expectations that the One Piece series would be among the most expensive productions by Netflix. Marvel’s costliest production is Avengers Endage which costs around $356 million. As per multiple reports and numbers.com, the regular Marvel film has a budget ranging from $150 to $250 million.
If we go by Richard’s statement, then the Netflix Live-Action series will budget around $150, keeping per episode cost to $18.75 million. In comparison, the Mandalorian and GoT per episode cost was around $3.75 million.
