Sunday, Paramount Network shared some sad but happy news about Yellowstone’s return. Now that Jamie’s (Wes Bentley) dad, Governor John Dutton, is at war with him, we won’t find out what happens until this summer.
Yes, cowboys. The Taylor Sheridan drama won’t be back until the dog days of summer. We don’t even know when the show will come out; Paramount has only said it will be in the middle of the year. Here is a summary of the midseason finale.
Yellowstone’s fifth season has already been a big one. After seeing how the trailer broke streaming records (14.4 million views and 1.7 million engagements in the first 24 hours after it came out on September 29), Paramount reported that the Yellowstone premiere was up 52% in adults 18-34 (2.53 Live+Same Day vs. 1.67) compared to the Season 4 premiere. More than 12 million people watched the episode on different platforms owned by Viacom.
In Season 5, Josh Lucas came back as young John Dutton, and Jacki Weaver, Kylie Rogers, and Kyle Red Silverstein also came back. Also joining the cast were Kai Caster, Lainey Wilson, Lilli Kay, and Dawn Olivieri.
Sheridan and John Linson worked together to make Yellowstone. Linson, Art Linson, Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, and Stephen Kay are among the producers who are in charge.
