Milly Alcock Chosen To Be The Next Supergirl In The Upcoming DC Universe Project
Milly Alcock, portraying Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, will be the next Supergirl after competing against Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly. The House of the Dragons actor started her career in a 2014 episode of the romantic comedy “Wonderland.” Alcock is represented by CAA, Shanahan Management, and Entertainment 360 and has appeared in advertising for Cadbury, KFC, and NBN.
Meg Donnelly has previously voiced Supergirl in DC Universe animated film series, including Legion of Superheroes and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 1. Donnelly, represented by Gersh and Silver Lining Entertainment, has also appeared in Disney Channel’s “Zombies” franchise.

DC’s upcoming project is in development, as confirmed by James Gunn, with co-DC chief Peter Safran. The film is rumored to begin filming in Georgia soon, but as of now, nothing has been confirmed. It is already confirmed that Supergirl will have her solo movie with Super girl: Woman Of Tomorrow. However, this project, based on Tom King’s 2022 comic book series, with Bilquis Evely as the illustrator, was announced a year ago at DC’s studio press day.
Gunn has guaranteed fans that this time’s Super girl will be intense, with a dark past. James Gunn has indicated that Supergirl in the upcoming series would be different from Superman, who was nurtured in a loving household as an infant after being transported to Earth. Supergirl, on the other hand, was raised on a rock, the last piece of Krypton, and was forced to watch everyone dying around her.
In our series we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl.
