Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles are the latest teams in NFL to make an exchange deal. The Cardinals traded their safety Rudy Ford and got defensive tackle Bruce Hector from the Eagles in exchange. NFL 2019 season is about to start soon and hence this deal makes a lot of sense for both the teams.
While the Eagles got Ford who is much better at his game, the same can’t be said for the Cardinals. Philadelphia is already a strong team with some injured players and hence they needed some new players. While the Cardinals sending out Ford so easily makes the whole exchange deal very one-sided.
Eagles is Improving their Roster
The Eagles are trying to make their safety roster deep with the addition of fit and in-form players. It is the reason why they waived the former Auburn safety Blake Countess in the second week of August. Rodney McLeod and Malcolm Jenkins are already doing great for the Eagles as their safety starters.

There was no need to move out Countess as he was doing great, but the Eagles had something else in their mind. Bruce Hector was not doing that great as he was the undrafted rookie and played only eight games in the last season. Ford will be a great addition to the team and will give the Eagles more freedom to make bold choices.
Ford is More Valuable
Rudy Ford was a running back in 2012 when he used to play at the New Hope High School where he impressed everyone with his performance. Even in his NFL career, Ford has been doing apart from the time he had a knee injury. In the last preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams, Ford made three tackles and 21 defensive snaps.
The Rudy Ford trade could increase Brandon Williams' chances of making the team. Ford was an ace special teams gunner. Williams probably the best one on the roster now.

Ford was the key player responsible for the Cardinals winning the game 17-3 against the Rams. The Cardinals could have held on to him for the preseason but they made the trade deal in fear. Ford was much more valuable and Hector exchange is kind of illogical.
