After an impressive second half of the 2023 season, Jordan Love is solidifying his position as a star quarterback in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers quarterback turned heads with his leadership, leading the Packers to a stellar 6-2 record and securing a spot in the playoffs. His remarkable performance has set high expectations for the team as they approach the 2024 campaign.
However, the Green Bay Packers are in one of the toughest divisions in the league, the NFC North. With the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, and Minnesota Vikings all vying for supremacy, it’s not an easy road. Even so, former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress believes that Love gives the Packers a significant edge, saying, “They have the best quarterback in the division.”
Contenders in the NFC North
Despite the competitive nature of the NFC North, Burress sees Love as being miles ahead of his peers. Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff remains the only real competitor to Love, but many critics still view Goff as just “decent.” The other quarterbacks in the division are both rookies: Caleb Williams and J.J. McCarthy, making Love’s veteran presence stand out.
While some might argue that Love himself is still relatively untested—having played just one full season—it’s hard to ignore the strides he made in the latter half of 2023.
Jordan Love’s Standout 2023 Season
The quarterback’s stats speak for themselves. Over the final eight games of the regular season, Jordan Love threw 18 touchdowns and just one interception. He maintained that excellence in the playoffs, adding three more touchdowns without a single pick in a Wild Card Round victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite the Green Bay Packers eventually losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round, they held a lead heading into the fourth quarter.
His overall 2023 season was remarkable, amassing 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while completing 64.2% of his passes. His passer rating of 96.1 and clutch performance left little doubt about his potential.

Jordan Love’s Path to Success
Jordan Love’s journey to becoming the Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback was anything but easy. Selected 26th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Utah State alumnus spent three years backing up Aaron Rodgers. With Rodgers being traded to the New York Jets, Love finally got his shot as the starter.
Now, Jordan Love carries the hopes of Green Bay fans on his shoulders. With his undeniable talent and growing confidence, the Packers are hopeful that he can lead them deep into the playoffs and secure the coveted Lombardi Trophy.
