The Tennessee Titans have made a splash with the signing of wide receiver Tyler Boyd, bolstering their offensive arsenal that already includes Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins. But the addition of Boyd leaves one significant question hanging over Nashville: what happens to Treylon Burks?
Fantasy Points’ Joe Dolan, speaking on The Ross Tucker Podcast, delivered a blunt analysis: “The odds of Burks ever living up to his first-round status are next to nothing.” Citing Burks’ ongoing injury issues and lackluster production, Dolan sees Boyd’s arrival as an indicator that the Titans are ready to move on from Burks.
Treylon Burks’ Unfulfilled Expectations
Selected 18th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Treylon Burks arrived with high expectations following an impressive collegiate career at the University of Arkansas. However, his performance in the NFL hasn’t matched his draft pedigree.
His rookie season yielded just 33 catches for 444 yards and a touchdown over 11 games. The following year was even less fruitful, with 16 catches for 221 yards across another 11 contests.
Despite being a physical specimen at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, Burks has yet to find his footing as a consistent performer. Last season, he fell behind Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on the depth chart, and Boyd’s addition now pushes Burks further down the list.
Finding a New Home for Treylon Burks
While the Titans appear ready to move forward without Burks, Dolan notes that some NFL teams might still be willing to gamble on the former first-rounder. Burks has a solid NCAA track record and presents an intriguing option for wide receiver-needy franchises.

Potential suitors like the Baltimore Ravens or Dallas Cowboys could see value in Burks as a low-risk, high-reward acquisition. The Titans, given Burks’ lack of production thus far, wouldn’t likely demand much in return, possibly settling for a late-round draft pick.
Tennessee Titans’ Offseason Strategy
The Titans haven’t been passive in reshaping their roster, targeting key offensive and defensive pieces. In addition to Boyd, they’ve secured running back Tony Pollard and center Lloyd Cushenberry. On the defensive side, a trade for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is poised to strengthen the secondary.
With Boyd’s arrival set to shake up Tennessee’s offensive dynamics, the Titans now face the challenge of finding the right value for Burks before he loses his appeal entirely. As the NFL offseason drama continues to unfold, all eyes will be on how the Titans navigate this precarious situation.
