Noah Strausser Speer Wyle was born on June 4, 1971, in Los Angeles, where he was the middle child among three siblings. He is the son of Marjorie (née Speer), a registered orthopedic head nurse, and Stephen Wyle, an electrical engineer and entrepreneur.
