During a radio rant, Noel Gallagher got Sam Smith’s gender wrong and called them a “f***ing idiot.”
Noel Gallagher was the lead singer of one of the best-known rock bands in the UK, Oasis. He was 55 years old.
While Smith, who is 30 years old, has won a Grammy and is known for songs like “Stay With Me,” “La La La,” and “I’m Not the Only One.”
One of their new songs, “Unholy,” which features Kim Petras, and their recent “satanic” performance on stage have been in the news.

They also caused a stir when they walked the red carpet at the Brit Awards in a black jumpsuit with padded shoulders that blew up.
Noel Gallagher went on the Dutch radio station Kink to talk about the “current state of pop music” while all of this was going on.
During his performance, the artist behind “Wonderwall” calls the non-binary singer “him” and “not cool.”
Noel Gallagher fumes:
Music has become quite fractured and chart music is dominated by pop.
Pop music is alright if the pop stars are cool. Sadly the stars of today are f***ing idiots.
When asked which pop star he is talking about in particular, the 55-year-old says:
Sam Smith.
When Noel Gallagher is asked why he doesn’t like Smith, the artist says,
Look at him!
The member of Oasis isn’t the only famous person who has made fun of the singer of “I’m Not Here to Make Friends.”
After their dramatic walk down the red carpet at the Brits, Piers Morgan, who used to host Good Morning Britain, took to Twitter to say how he felt.
Methinks ‘they’ is getting a teeny weeny bit over-thirsty for attention. #BRITs,
the journalist tweeted.
Many of Smith’s fans criticized Morgan in the comments for making fun of the star’s outfit.
One person remarked:
Yes, they’re a pop star. That’s what it’s about.
Another added:
That’s the goal for celebs at these events. They all want to stand out. Good on them.
Even though Morgan was criticized for what he said, it didn’t stop comedian Ricky Gervais from weighing in.
The star of “After Life” put Smith’s outfit back up on Twitter, but he put his own head on top of Smith’s.
He captioned the post:
The worst thing about being famous is the lack of privacy. I can’t even walk down the street without people looking and pointing.

Just like Morgan, Gervais got a lot of criticism for his tweet, and many people defended Smith in the comments.
One Twitter user said:
Yeah, but they’re not wearing that walking down the street on a normal day.
They are at an event where everyone dresses up. Not too many people wear tuxedos or evening gowns going to the shops either.
Somebody else wrote:
I must say, much as they aren’t my cup of tea, it doesn’t bother me what they are up to.
In fact, I only see things about them from older men who seem increasingly upset about what younger generations are doing. This stuff happened in your generation too.
You do know that, grandpa?
