Dogs go to a special place in heaven when they die.
Jonathan Graziano, Noodle’s owner, said that the 14-year-old pug who became famous on social media for his “bones or no bones” ritual has died. As part of his daily ritual, Noodle had to decide whether or not to eat bones.
Jonathan posted a tearful update on both his TikTok and Instagram accounts on December 3 to tell everyone that his dog had died the day before. Jonathan said that the loss was “very difficult.”
It’s a day that I always knew was coming but never thought would arrive,
he said in the video.
Although this is very sad, I wanted to let you know and I wanted to encourage you to celebrate him while we’re navigating this sadness.
Jonathan said that his pet dog, Noodle, whom he had taken in as a stray seven years ago, had died peacefully at home in the arms of his owner. Even though this was a terrible thing to happen, Jonathan thanked their fans for their love and support and said that the pug “made millions of people happy.”
He lived 14 and a half years, which is about as long as you can hope a dog can,
he said.
What a run. Thank you for loving him, thank you for embracing us.
In the caption that went with the video, Jonathan called his dog “the sweetest man who has ever been and will ever be.” Taking care of Noodle for the past seven years, he said, “has been the privilege of my life.”
In 2021, a person who loved dogs started putting up popular videos on TikTok that showed how his pug felt first thing in the morning. In the videos, Jonathan would flip Noodle over and put him in an upright position to see if he could stand on his own. If he could, it was called a “bones day,” which later became an internet term for a day when you should get out of bed and try to do as much as you can. If Noodle rolled back over, it meant it was a “no bones day,” which meant it was best to take it easy and be kind to oneself.
A bones day is a day where you just have to go after your ambition or a task you were outing off,
Jonathan explained during an appearance on TODAY in 2021.
A no bones day is a day when you just permission to wear soft clothes, self-care, take a bath.
Over four million people watched to see if Noodle would have “bones or no bones” for the day. Jonathan’s picture book for kids, “Bones or No Bones,” came out in June. Almost as soon as it came out, it shot to the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
Noodle has brought joy to so many people online. I can’t believe it,
Jonathan shared with a source.
This ‘no bones’ video is something that I would just do as a silly little ritual for us in the morning to check in and see how he was doing. And then it took off. People starting using it as a forecast for how their day was going to go and I leaned into it.
