The Los Angeles Clippers guard and forward Norman Powell is likely to get traded to the New York Knicks this offseason. The Clippers are the most likely destination for the Philadelphia Sixers’ guard James Harden, but we have been saying the same this whole summer. So, what do the Clippers lack? Money. The story does not end here, and they are having some other financial instabilities as well since Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are due for extensions. How would the Clippers clean this mess?
The UCLA Bruins product Norman played 60 games for the Clippers last season and averaged 17 points, 1.8 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game while shooting 39.7 percent from beyond the arc. The Clippers are surely going to trade off some players with huge contracts this offseason. Will the 30-year-old be the first one to go? Here is all the information you need about the trade between the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks involving Norman Powell.
What would the Knicks offer for Norman Powell?
The Knicks are expected to offer Evan Fournier and a 2025 first-round pick in exchange for the Clippers’ #24. The Clippers do not want to invest a lot in Harden since he has already requested a trade thrice and things might get a bit messy if he does the same with the Clippers as well after a season or so.
The Clippers have offered the Sixers a 1st round pick, a draft-pick swap, and expiring contracts for James Harden, per @PompeyOnSixers.

Why would the Knicks like to sign Norman Powell?
The Knicks are throwing in a single draft pick with the quality to land an even better player. They do not have any salary issues right now, and they would love to add Norman on their roster. He is a great defender and brilliant shot-creator.

Why would the Clippers trade-off Norman Powell?
If the Clippers add this return value to assets they already have, they might have enough to sign James Harden. Other than that, this deal gives them some financial relaxation. If Fournier manages to perform, the Clippers would know that they struck gold when they did this deal.
Will the Clippers be able to add James Harden to their squad? How would the Knicks line up next season? We’ll keep you updated.
