It is commonly said that every ending is a step closer to a new beginning. Some people believe this while others don’t. But in the case of the Brazilian illustrator Rafael Mantesso it’s totally true. What actually happened was Mantesso divorced his ex-wife. After that, his wife took almost everything leaving behind an empty house with white walls.
Mantesso told us that “She took her cookware, furniture, photos, and decorations.” He further said that “The only thing she didn’t take was my bull terrier, whom she’d named after her favorite shoe designer: Jimmy Choo.” And this is where the creative mind of Mantesso begins to work. He started snapping pictures of his dog in the blank room. This was actually the moment the humorous series was born.
He added “When Jimmy collapsed in happy exhaustion next to the white wall, I grabbed a marker and drew a new world around his ginger-eared pup. Suddenly, I felt his long-dormant inspiration for drawing, for art, for life—returning.”
This fun series where Mantesso portrays his dog, bull terrier in fun and hilarious scenarios is winning the hearts of people. And now, he has nearly 600k fans on Instagram. Well, that’s huge! You can scroll down to see the funny imaginations that we are talking about. (You will surely like ’em.)
