I personally think that Luffy may be on the chopping block for the very end of the story, but I don’t think any other straw hat will die or even has a chance to, what do you guys think?
To be honest, there has been multiple instances in one piece where luffy had to sacrifice his lifespan. Like the first time he used Gear second, when he got cured from magellan’s poison, or just the way he looks after using Gear 5. It could just be flavour at that moment about how it’s harrowing for him, but there’s a possibility he finds the one piece and dies on the spot. Or dying is the price to get the one piece, and he will gladly pay that price.

Others think it might be Zoro since he has been taking a lot of hits these days. Fans believe that this man has been cheating death for quite a well, and eventually, at the end of One Piece, Zoro may sacrifice himself for his Captain.
The foreshadowing that Zoro is going to die by the end of the show. This man actually cheats death and has a narrative around him that would provide closure for if he does die. I’m at the point where I just think Zoro is in a brucaratti situation and is actually already dead, his will just wont let him die till he helps luffy become pirate king.

Is Eiichiro Oda indeed planning anything that cruel? Sure, the Final Saga has a lot of exciting battles in store for fans, and a few of the characters may have to suffer during this time. However, Eiichiro Oda seems to have different ideas for his manga series. In a 2018 interview, he hinted about the finale of One Piece, saying that he wants all of his characters to have a big party at the end. So, while fans may expect a lot of battles, injuries, and bloodshed, and Luffy may or may not discover the treasure, the One Piece ending is unlikely to be heartbreaking.
