One Piece Manga will enter another hiatus after releasing Chapter 1088. One Piece Chapter 1088 will be out soon following the schedule.
One Piece Manga To Go On A Break Again After Chapter 1088
Author Eiichiro Oda just returned from a month-long break post his astigmatism surgery. As announced earlier, One Piece Chapter 1087 was supposed to return after a 1-month gap, and after that, the usual release dates were scheduled accordingly.

However, following One Piece Chapter 1088, author Eiichiro Oda will take another unforeseen break. The One Piece manga will go on a hiatus during WSJ issue 35, with One Piece Chapter 1089 continued in WSJ issue 36, followed by another break.
July 23: Chapter 1088
July 30: Eiichiro Oda’s break
August 6: Chapter 1089
August 13: Weekly Shonen Jump break
August 20: Chapter 1090-Source: IGN
While dissatisfied, fans have begun to worry about the author’s health and believe he should have waited a bit longer before returning to his One Piece manga series. It is well known that many mangakas put in a lot of overtime to keep us entertained, and of course, we appreciate what they do. So they do deserve a break once in a while.

Oda's health is always low. The surgery isn't the one thing about his health. He used to do one piece weekly no breaks, these breaks were forced because he has been slowly killing himself from overworking and horrible health.

While few other fans believe that they will receive an exciting surprise following One Piece Chapter 1088, this is likely the reason Oda is taking a break.

These two chapters were done before the month long break too (at least drawn before), so it's a strategy I'm guessing to allow for more editing of the stuff Oda was editing prior. He's been working on Egghead material for months and sprinkled in off-island stuff as "filler".
